3 years and 30 weeks

Today marks three years of wedded bliss.
I truly am one lucky girl. :)
And I can't wait to see what the next three years of our marriage in Biloxi will hold for us!
Today also marks 30 weeks of pregnancy!
It's hard to believe there are only 10 more weeks to go before the arrival of our baby girl. Yikes...I better hurry up and get this new house in order so I can start on her nursery!

Baby Shower Fun!

Baby Girl Smith and I were so spoiled by our family & friends in GA this weekend at my 2nd baby shower. It was SO good to see everyone! Derek & I left Biloxi on Friday night after he got home from work since the shower was on Saturday. This reminded me how very thankful I am that we get to spend at least the next 3 years living in Biloxi! I love-love-love the fact that we are just a mere six-hour drive from the people we love most. Here's a few of those people:
And a shot with the grandmothers-to-be!
The present pictured below (wrapped by Derek's mom) was awarded the best-wrapped gift :)A big thank you to the hostesses for such a wonderful day!
On a completely unrelated note, Saturday also marked my parents' 29th wedding anniversary! We love you so much and are so thankful you have set such a wonderful example for us! Happy Anniversary, Mama & Daddy!

Good-bye DC...Hello Biloxi!

On Tuesday morning, I said goodbye to our first home. I might have been a little more sentimental about it if I wasn't so utterly EXHAUSTED! Between Friday night & Tuesday morning, my mom and I had to pack up my classroom AND the condo. The movers had already taken about 95% of our stuff to Biloxi a few weeks ago, but we had left the bare essentials behind for me. It didn't look like a lot of stuff, but between a pregnant girl and a lady with only one good arm (that would be my mom!) we had to make a LOT of trips up and down the stairs to our 3rd floor condo. But we finally got my car jam packed full of our stuff, and we headed down south on Tuesday morning. I can't thank my mom enough for all of her help...she packed, packed, and then packed some more with me and she cleaned like a mad woman! Not only was she a big help with the physical labor, it was so nice to have her there with me. :)

We made it to GA on Tuesday night, and then I made the drive to Biloxi on Wednesday. I hadn't seen Derek in a few weeks, so I was thrilled to see him...and our new house!! :) I will post some more pictures of the house once we get more settled. But I'm already LOVING it here. I'm loving all of the space in the house, loving the neighborhood, loving the fact that we're right by the bay, loving the mere 6 hour drive home, the list goes on and on. I also love that Biloxi has one of these...
which is where Derek and I dined for dinner last night, and it was delightful! :)

Now I'm off to unpack my little heart out...I'll check back in soon with more house pictures!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy in the whole world!
And Happy Father's Day to the best soon-to-be dad!
Unfortunately, I can't be with either of these two of my fave people today! :( But I am very blessed to have them both in my life..I don't know what I'd do without them!

My mom is with me up in VA right now and we are hard at work cleaning and packing up what's left in the condo. Although we're exhausted from all the work, we're enjoying time together just the two of us...something we don't get very often anymore!

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there! :)

Lawn mowers, weed whackers, and fertilizer..oh my!

We officially have our brand-new house on Keesler Air Force Base, and we could not be more excited! I haven't actually gotten to see our house in person (this part of the neighborhood wasn't built yet when we visited there last summer), but here are a few of the pics we've gotten so far!
It's kind of hard to tell in pictures, but the houses are duplexes. We found out the family living on the other side of our house is from Georgia Tech. What a small world! So we made sure that little Uga was right out front. :)
Look closely, and you'll see him sitting to the right of the garage.
This is our little screen door! This may not seem like a big deal, but we've always wanted one..so this is very exciting to us! :)
This is our patio & little fenced in back yard. Please note our Air Force rocking chair on the patio. :)

After living in apartments throughout college and then living in our condo in DC, Derek was more than ready to have a house! I'm excited about more space inside, but he's ecstatic about having a garage and a yard to cut! So as soon as we found out we officially had our house, Derek made his first of what I assume will be many trips to Lowe's. We're loving the 10% military discount. :)
We'll have lots more pics in the coming weeks! But for now, I have to get back to work on report cards, lesson plans, end-of-year assessment data, and the list goes on...

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek of our new house! :)

A Little Facelift :)

As you probably already noticed, our bloggy got a little facelift this week thanks to Rachel at Uniquely Yours! I was so thrilled with how the blog turned out, and I just can't thank her enough! She's wonderful...thank you SO much, Rachel! :)

I wish I could write more tonight, but I'm too worn out! It's been a loooooong week at work, but thankfully there are only 5 days left with the kiddos! Hallelujah!

I'll try to check back in with you later this weekend to give you a little update on our move. :) Until then...happy weekend, everyone!

Wordless Wednesday Belly Shots!

(You'll have to excuse the poor photography skills on the 27 week picture! I wanted to take a picture today, but I was by myself...I thought, "How hard could it be to take a picture of myself?!" Seven pictures later, and that was the best I could do..ha!)

The Boxes are Gone!

We are no longer surrounded by boxes! It's amazing how big and empty your home can look when everything is gone. Here's our current set-up in the living room:

We've got our two camping chairs to sit on and a make-shift table made out of a sytrofoam cooler & plastic bin...we're very high-class right now. :) And in our bedroom, we're using our air mattress (that we use for camping) to sleep on. And that's the extent of what's left in our house other than clothes and the bare essentials for the bathroom & kitchen. It's crazy how quickly we went from our regular furnished home..to a sea of boxes..to nothing at all! It's certainly been a whirlwind of a week!

On a completely different note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY (yesterday) to my wonderful hubby! It's hard to believe we'll be celebrating our birthdays next year as a family of three! :)

Wordless Wednesday: A Sea of Boxes!

In case you couldn't tell by the sea of boxes, the movers came yesterday & packed everything up! Today it all gets hauled off to Biloixi!
And even though I'm not leaving just yet (we still have 2.5 weeks left of school left up here in the North!), my sweet friends gave me a going-away gift a little early so the movers could take it.
The picture doesn't really do it justice, but it is an Air Force rocking chair..complete with the Air Force symbol at the top. It will be the perfect addition to our new front porch in Biloxi! :) This gift was such a sweet & unexpected surprise...I will miss these dear friends!

And my apologies...I don't think I'll ever be able to have a completely wordless Wednesday! :)
