What We've Been Reading {Fall 2019}

These are the books I've been reading since the end of summer/beginning of fall.

As you can see, I read three more of the books from Reese Witherspoon's book club, although I think they will be the last I read from her recommendations for a bit. I've found the books from her list to be a little underwhelming. I also got about half-way through Confessions of a Domestic Failure & had to stop reading it. Even if I don't love a book, I usually force myself to finish it. But this was the first time in a long time, I just couldn't do it. My favorite book from this bunch was definitely The Tattooist of Auschwitz!

I just finished reading aloud The Cricket in Times Square to the girls, and all three of us loved it! I would definitely recommend this one!!

Grammy & Grampy's Visit

We had SO much fun with my parents while they were here! As always, it just went by too fast! They drove to San Antonio and spent a couple days with us, then flew to Las Vegas for a work conference for my dad, and then flew back here for a couple more days before making the long drive back to Georgia. One of the highlights of their time here was Grammy & Grampy getting to eat lunch at school with the girls...not just once, but twice!

Another highlight was lots of chess & card games!

Between Grammy & Grampy's visit & the Griffins coming over Columbus Day Weekend, it's been a fun couple of weeks for us! We're so thankful for all of the family time!

Halloween 2019

We carved pumpkins a couple days before Halloween, which is always a lot of fun for all of us & a lot of work for Dada! ;)

The kids' schools don't celebrate Halloween in any way, but Hadley decided to wear a festive little glittery bat in her hair to school on the day of Halloween that Grandma had gifted her. I thought it turned out so cute, and it was very Hadley-esque! Hadley loved it so much that she wore it in her hair again the day after Halloween! ;)

It had been cold & rainy leading up to Halloween, but thankfully we had blue skies & slightly warmer temperatures just in time for trick-or-treating!

And the best part of Halloween 2019 was that we had Grammy & Grampy here with us!!!! Everything is more fun with Grammy & Grampy! :)

And a little flashback to the last time Grammy & Grampy were with us on Halloween in Las Vegas! What a difference two years makes!
