Oh, the hair!
Well, I may need to alter my chore chart a bit and make vacuuming a more frequent task in this household due to the extreme amount of hair falling out of my head at an incredibly rapid rate. I kid you not--it is ri.dic.u.lous. I had always heard that women's hair tends to fall out post-pregnancy. Well, that didn't happen to me right away..so I kind of assumed it wouldn't ever happen for me. I mean, I didn't experience any of the typical symptoms during my pregnancy (ie. morning sickness, cravings, etc.), so it seemed logical that I might not experience typical symptoms after my pregnancy either. Well, three months after Shelby was born the hair started to fall out like crazy, and it hasn't let up since. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if I wake up one morning without any hair left on my head. So I'm thinking vacuuming just once a week just isn't going to cut it. Other mommies out there--does this incessant-hair-falling-out phenomenon eventually let up?!?!

This is so funny because I have now said on a daily basis that I could make a wig out of all the hair I'm losing post-pregnancy! I thought it was just me. Thank God I have a ridiculously thick head of hair, so I don't look bald yet. Has Shelby been losing hair yet? Cheyanne is losing her hair a little still too, although it seems to have slowed down recently- probably because she lost most of it early on.
ReplyDeleteYES!!! Happened to me too...it seemed like I was loosing more then normal and it couldn't possibly be just post pregnancy. Luckily it does let up, as mine has stopped falling out in clumps like it was. Don't worry, just another fun (all be it strange) treat of being a mommy!!
ReplyDeleteSame things happened to me with both babies and it was amazing how much hair I was losing!! :) I would say it took about 6 months or so to slow down....felt like forever!!

It does let up, but for me it picked back up when I stopped nursing. Thats when your body is really, totally done with the whole producing and nurturing a baby thing, and you go through a lot of changes then!
