Lately...

Our 4th anniversary {June 30th} was spent packing our car..romantic, huh?! We loaded up the the car, and the three of us headed out bright & early on the morning of the 1st to head to Ormond Beach {about 5 minutes North of Daytona} where my parents rent a condo every summer for the month of July. The drive ended up taking us eleven hours after it was all said and done. That is by far the longest trip we have made with a baby in tow. Shockingly, Shelby did simply amazing. She literally only cried one time for like 2 minutes the entire day. She was a rock star. {Derek & I on the other hand, were not such happy campers. We hit bad traffic in Jacksonville, and that about did us both in! Ha!}

The three of us spent the next two days enjoying fun in the sun with my family here at the beach. We had a great time! Then we woke up early on the Fourth of July to drop Derek off at the airport. He safely made it to Seattle that evening and is busing working in the ICU there. Shelby & I are staying here at the beach for the rest of the month with my fam while Derek is away. We are certainly missing him, but we are enjoying spending so much extra time with family! And I am very fortunate that my sweet mama is willing to keep Miss Shelby here for a few days later in the month while I get to go visit my hubby in Seattle. We are SO excited to do some sight-seeing and experience a new city together! :)

Like I said before, we come to Ormond Beach every summer with my family. This is obviously Shelby's first time to join us, and it has been great having her here with us! She is definitely a water baby. And it's a win-win for everyone...my fam gets to spend more time with Miss Shelby--which they are LOVING--and I get more down time, which I am loving. It's perfect! And completely unrelated to all of this, but it is what we have been up to lately...glued to the Casey Anthony trial/verdict/aftermath drama. Can't believe she will be a free woman next week...
