A Virtual Diet Coke Date

One of my favorite blogs to follow is {Barefoot Daydreams}, and Kate wrote a {POST} this week that I loved--A Virtual Chestnut Praline Latte Date! Kate actually stole the idea from a friend of hers b/c she thought it was such a fun way to do a catch-up post, and I couldn't agree more! So I'm totally stealing the idea, too! Except I don't do coffee, so we'll be having a virtual Diet Coke date ;)

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today....I would tell you that I am SO excited that my mom will be here in less than TWO WEEKS! We are all counting down the days! We haven't seen any of our family since we went home for Thanksgiving, and we've certainly been missing them! We've got so much fun stuff lined up to do while my mom is here, and I can't wait!!!

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today....I would tell you that it has been downright COLD here the past two days, but the SUN HAS RETURNED! And for that, we are so thankful! We bundled up to enjoy the sunshine, and everyone's mood immediately improved :)  Unfortunately, more rain is on the way this weekend :(

and I can't get over how cute she looks in them!!

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today...I would tell you that we have a beach vacation planned in June with my parents & my sister and her family. SO, SO EXCITED!

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today...I would tell you that we finally got Hadley back on a good napping routine, and I'm so relieved! She's always been a good sleeper & she especially loves to sleep in late in the morning. If she had it her way, she would be completely happy to go to bed early (around 7pm), sleep in late in the mornings (around 9am or later), and not take a nap at all. But I feel like a two year old should still be taking a nap, plus Shelby still naps for at least 2 hours every day...so I had to figure out a way to get this girl to hang on to her nap! It had gotten to the point where she would sleep in so late every morning that she would just play in her crib during naptime, so I'm now waking her up every morning around 7:30 and when I put her down for her nap at 1:30 she goes right to sleep until 4..HOORAY! I will admit that I kind of miss my slow, peaceful mornings with Shelby while Hadley slept in late, but this new routine is working so much better for everyone!  And since we have to wake Hadley up every morning, I have an excuse to snap more sleeping pictures of her...there's just not much cuter than a sleeping baby! Hadley loves to snuggle with/near her bumper pad ;)

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today....I would tell you that we got Shelby registered at her preschool for 3 mornings a week next year, and she is THRILLED! Shelby's preschool starts at 3 years old, so Miss Hadley will get another year at home with Mommy before it's her turn. It's so crazy to me to think that Shelby started Mother's Morning Out just a couple weeks shy of her 2nd birthday, which is the exact age Hadley is now...and I can't even begin to imagine sending Hadley to school yet! It's so funny how different (yet similar) their little personalies are and how much your perspective on parenting changes with each child. If we were sharing a Diet Coke today....I would tell you that our friends Angela & Ben--the ones who said they were "done" having kids & got rid of all of their baby stuff before our big move to Texas--had a big surprise in early January when they found out they were pregnant with Baby #3. Then right before Valentine's Day, there was another surprise at Angela's first ultrasound..TWINS! As you can imagine, this news has totally rocked their world--and mine too, if I'm being honest! I feel the need to just tell random people that my friend is having twins, so if we were having a Diet Coke today this probably would have been the FIRST thing I told you, ha! ;)  Angela's due date is in September, but the babies will probably be arriving in August. It all still feels very surreal to me that they could possibly be having twins--probably b/c I'm not the one is nauseus every day. ;)  But I'm beyond excited to find out these babies' genders in April, I know it will feel very real then!

If we were sharing a Diet Coke today...I'd tell you that the 2nd year allergy fellows finally got the "unofficial" word about where they'll be PCSing this summer (aka no official orders yet). It's crazy to think that this time next year we could be gearing up to move again!
