When It Rains, It Pours

We just got back on Monday from the most fun vacation--a week in GA & a week at the beach!! So, so fun! We got back on Monday just in time for the girls' naps, which made unpacking & restocking the fridge super easy! :)  We even got in a run that evening & got the girls to bed early--we felt like we were kicking butt in life! Then, Tuesday came! ;)  Our house is hooked up for an alarm system, but we're not using the service. Our doors usually beep as we enter/exit the house, but that's the extent of what the alarm does. Anyhow, while we're out of town, the power went out and did something to our alarm. Around 4am on Tuesday morning, it started beeping. Derek got up and fixed it, but then the beeping started up again around 5am. Again, Derek got it to stop, but then around 5:30 the whole alarm system was BLARING! I was having flash-backs of our smoke detectors going off incessantly when we first moved here last June--not fun! Derek got the alarm completely disabled as quickly as he could (aka ripping every single cord out of the wall), and I was able to assure Shelby everything was okay and settled her back in her room for quiet time. Who knews how, but Hadley was able to sleep through it all! Derek finally got out the door for work, but of course ran into traffic b/c he left much later than normal--not how he wanted to start his first day back. The day just went downhill from there--nothing major went wrong, just lots of little hiccups. Derek didn't get home until 2 hours after his normal time that night b/c of a patient, we lost a remote control, Hadley threw about 100 mini tantrums, Amazon's website was down (MAJOR problem in my world, ha!), discovering a wasp nest in our sandbox..again, nothing major but it was like reality was slapping us in the face after living the beach life! ;)

Despite the headaches of yesterday, we really are so happy to be back home & in our own beds! But seeing these pictures makes me ache for the beach & more time with our family! We had the BEST time!!!! LOTS more pictures to come! :)
