Jet Lag

After 4 weeks of summer fun in GA & FL, we are finally back home in Las Vegas! And nothing says jet lag like a 3:30am wake up call, 5am run watching the sunrise, and playing Connect Four by 6am! I felt like adjusting to the Eastern time zone wasn't a huge deal--I mean, kids sleeping in until 9-10am isn't so bad! But getting back on Pacific time hurts a little more, ha! ;)  I'm sure we'll all adjust soon enough though!

We flew back to Las Vegas yesterday, and all 3 kiddos did great on the flight again! Aside from the Southwest agents giving me a bit of grief that we didn't have a birth certificate in hand for Brady {I mean, really! They never asked for any identification when we flew with Hadley as a baby or when we flew in June with Brady}--THANK GOODNESS Derek was at home & was able to text me a picture of the birth certificate!--and the flight attendants being rude that I had to take all 3 kiddos to the bathroom at the same time and causing a "security risk" {seriously, people?!}, it went as smoothly as possible! Even though our kids are awesome little travelers, I'm super glad I don't have to get on a plane with them again any time in the near future! ;)

{so happy to be back in Las Vegas & in the car headed home with our Daddy-boy!}

Brady had never even once attempted to go up the stairs in our house before our trip. Almost as soon as we got to my parents' house, Brady was constantly wanting to go up the stairs. I was naively hoping he would go back to his old ways once we got back to Las Vegas, but here he is showing me otherwise! ;)  The baby gate went up immediately after these photos!

{The girls were so happy to be back home with all their stuff!}

I intentionally kept our calendar completely clear this week b/c I knew our bodies would be all out of whack after 4 weeks away & adjusting to the time difference. Aside from our crazy early morning run & rousing game of Connect Four, we went to the library, swam/played in the water table, and the girls were just so content to sit and read their books and play with their toys that they hadn't seen in a month! And the rest of the week will look pretty much the same as today--except hopefully with a little bit later wake-up times! ;)

I'm tired today, but I just kept thinking what a good day it was! We are certainly missing all of our family & friends in GA--saying goodbye is never easy--but we love our little life here in Las Vegas, and we were happy to get back to it. When we were visiting people over the last month, everyone would inevitably ask how we liked Las Vegas. And my answer was that we love it! We have really and truly grown to love each & every place we have lived.

We're so grateful for the 4 weeks we had with family & friends--I'll be bombarding the blog with vacation photos for the rest of the week, so get ready!!
