--We decorated for Christmas the day we got back from Austin, and I only managed to get two measly pictures b/c we were trying to speed decorate the tree during Brady's nap! ;) The girls absolutely adore unboxing each of the ornaments, and they were both such big helpers this year!
--Our pool is slowly coming along. A few weeks ago, a bunch of sand was dropped off in our back yard for them to use for mixing cement or grout maybe. I'm not exactly sure what they used it for, but our kiddos sure enjoyed playing in it!
--One of my most favorite recent pictures. Some days, it seems impossible for all three to be content at one time. Someone is always upset about something. But these moments sustain me.
--A couple weeks ago, we had a random Sunday with the most beautiful weather and highs in the low 70s. After an early dinner, we made an impromptu trip to Sea World to see the lights. It even "snowed" while we were there! We had the best evening!
--This past weekend, we attended Marvelously Made's {Shelby's old preschool from when we lived in San Antonio previously} annual Gingerbread fundraiser. It was so good, yet so surreal to go back there with the girls 2.5 years older than they were when we said our goodbyes to them before leaving for Las Vegas. And of course, they had never met Brady and now we'll be enrolling him there next month to start in the fall. Just kind of a weird full-circle moment!
--And then later that evening, we attended the Christmas Cowboy Parade in Old Town Helotes. It was a super cold evening, but lots of fun! Everyone is enjoying their chocolate treats from the bakery in Old Town in the picture below :)
--We always joke that Brady is either the worst or the absolute sweetest. Here he is below being the absolute sweetest. I was talking to my mom the other day on the phone about how Shelby was the most high-maintenance baby, but the easiest toddler/kid ever. Hadley and Brady were both the easiest, happiest, and most go-with-the-flow babies, but they both liked to give me a run for my money during the toddler years. ;) Thank goodness they're cute!!
--The girls' school had a Grinch Day last week, and Hadley's teacher posted this to their Dojo. I took this screenshot to send to Derek so he could see the picture along with this text: "Hadley was made for Kindergarten!" I mean, just look at her! Right there in the middle with her BFF's and grinning from ear to ear. Kindergarten is her jam!
--We are continuing our tradition of wrapping Christmas books, and the kids take turns opening one each night leading up to Christmas. I think this is our fifth or sixth year doing it, and I think it gets more fun every year!
--The picture below popped up in my Facebook Memories today, which just killed me!
This picture made me think of the other day when Brady and I were at the park. We got there around 9ish, and the park was completely empty. By the time we left around 10:30-10:45, mommies with toddlers and babies in tow were pouring in. At first, I couldn't figure out why all these people were rolling in so late--I kept thinking surely these kiddos need to get home for their lunch and naptime, too! Then it occurred to me, that these toddlers and babies were the first kiddos of those mamas. I had my days with a toddler and a baby, too. We "slept in" a bit later and therefore ate breakfast and lunch later, and naps were later, too. That picture above is from that season in our life. I remember it like it was yesterday, but it feels like a lifetime ago. Hadley would take her morning nap after breakfast, then I'd snatch that sleeping babe from her crib an hour or so later and we'd run out the door for Toddler Time at Kangarooz with a bottle thrown in the diaper bag. After Kangarooz, we often lunched at Chick-fil-a before coming home for naps around 1:30ish. This season of life for us is up and out the door by 7:30am every single day, so lunch and naptime comes a lot earlier these days! It's a different season for sure, but it's just as sweet.
