It's the first book post of 2024...even though most of these books were read at the tail end of 2023. ;)
My very favorite of the bunch hands-down was Lessons in Chemistry! I flew through it & loved it so, so much. We gifted Mercy Watson is Missing! to Brady for Christmas, and I enjoyed reading it with him during the slow days at home between Christmas & New Year's. It kind of felt like a full-circle moment because I can vividly remember being introduced to the joy that is Mercy Watson with Shelby when she was about Brady's age. It is such a sweet & special series. Hadley, Brady, and I read The Girl who Stole an Elephant as part of our homeschool curriculum--we really enjoyed it! The book I couldn't stop thinking about was Friends, Lover, and the Big Terrible Thing. Whew, it was hard to read. Like most people, I am a huge Friends & Chandler fan! Reading his words & his struggles so soon after his passing was really heart-breaking.
Brady got his own library card about 6ish weeks ago or so, and it has been so fun to have him join the girls & me in obsessively adding books to our hold list on our library accounts. Whenever he has a spare moment these days, I typically find him with his nose in one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books!
{nothing better than starting our morning together snuggled up in front of the fire with good books!}
