Our Stuff Made It, Too!

On August 1st, our household goods arrived! When we were in the throes of unpacking and our stuff seemed like it was somehow multiplying, it finally dawned on us that this is the first move that we can remember when all of our household goods arrived in one shipment. ;)  The past few moves, our stuff has gotten separated and delivered weeks apart. We weren't used to getting it all at once anymore, ha!

The kids spent lots of time poolside while the movers were bringing in boxes & furniture. We kept laughing to ourselves comparing the loading in Alaska to the unloading in Texas. The movers always leave the doors to the house wide open while they work. In Alaska, we had a nice breeze flowing through the house & we picnicked on our back deck. This time around, the air conditioner was struggling to keep up while bugs were flying everywhere in the house. ;)

Thankfully Derek had a little time at home with us before he had to be back at work in full force & we were able to get lots of unpacking, organizing, and decorating done. We are slowly but surely feeling more settled. Here's lots of pictures of our "firsts" back in our house!

{first thunderstorm back in Texas...we aren't used to hearing thunder anymore!}

{first movie night}

Our neighbors & friends have been so kind to welcome us back! Our neighbors across the street were so thoughtful to bring us over a basket of all the fixings for ice cream sundaes...it was a big hit!

{This should really be a post all its own, but life is coming at us fast! We finally got Shelby a real piano!}

{Derek's sweet co-worker/mentor & wife brought us over the most delicious homemade cookies}

{The first several nights we were back, Brady was running around the neighborhood with a group of boys his age....he came back red-faced, sweaty, and covered in bug bites, but lots of fun was had! I can't get over how quickly the kids adjusted to Alaska & readjusted to Texas!}

{first time back to our old Cold Stone!}
