Sarah's had her eye on CR-V's for the past couple of years, but I was able to convince her to keep the Civic until the transmission and gas tank debacles of 2009. When we finally fixed the gas tank in the fall we decided to buy a new car when we got to Biloxi, but after doing my many hours of research I learned that there are 16 Honda dealerships within 50 miles of our condo, but only 1 Honda dealership within 50 miles of Keesler AFB. With that information I figured that the car market would be much more competitive here. Also, I figured it'll be much easier for me to sell the Civic here since there are tons of commuters who would love to get the Civic's gas mileage.

New Car!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we officially bought Sarah a new car today!

I started seriously researching CR-V's a couple of weeks ago, and I got email quotes from all 16 dealerships in the area. I read almost everything on Edmunds.com about car dealerships and got an idea of what people are actually paying for new CR-V's on Truecar.com. I waited until I got all the quotes with all included fees so that I could compare all of the dealerships before even leaving the house. Today we went to the dealership with the lowest cost for the CR-V and the least fees. We got there at about 11:30am and drove off the lot at 1:45 or so. It was a very easy process because we had already negotiated price and everything. We just showed up, checked the car out, filled out the paperwork, waited for USAA to fax the new insurance, wrote the check, and drove home. We were pretty hungry afterwards so we headed to the Tyson's Corner Cheesecake Factory for a nice lunch since we only have 2 months left to enjoy eating at this restaurant since Biloxi is Cheesecake Factory-less.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day, so I plan to get the Civic washed up to get ready to sell! Out with the Civic, and in with the CR-V!
