Ten Days

How is it possible that I have not blogged in the last ten days?! Lots has happened since I last posted! Let's see...

---A certain little girl turned six months old on the 17th! However, due to a busy couple of days, we waited to schedule her 6 month appointment & shots until tomorrow. So I will get her 6 month post up sometime after that. It's hard to believe she's already a half year old. Crazy!
--My parents came to visit for a few days. We love when they come to visit. Derek & I always have so much fun with them, and I'm pretty sure they enjoy spending time with their grandbaby.
--The picture above was taken at the Keesler Air Show this weekend. The Blue Angels (among other planes) were here on base to perform. Since we live on base, we got to watch them practice on Thursday & Friday and then perform on Saturday & Sunday. We thought that having very loud planes flying very close to our house might get old after four days of it, but it didn't! Every time we heard the planes, we all gravitated outside. It's just so awe-inspiring to watch..especially the Blue Angels. If you ever have the opportunity to see them, GO! Here are a few pictures that my neighbor captured of the Blue Angels that give you a good idea of how amazing {and how close to our house!} they were...

Derek was on call on Sunday, but the rest of us {my parents, Shelby, & me} headed over to the Air Show to get an up-close look at all of the planes. While my mom and I went up in a C-17...

...my dad stayed with Miss Shelby.

--While my parents were in town, my aunt, uncle, & cousins swung by for a quick visit as well. They were on their way to a cruise taking off from New Orleans, and since Biloxi is just a quick drive over from NOLA they were able to squeeze in a visit with us on their vacation! We were so thrilled to get to see them, catch up, and introduce them to Shelby!
--Derek & I got to go out on a much-needed date night while my parents babysat last night. We went out to dinner & ran a few errands...nothing special. But it was so nice to just have some uninterrupted conversation and down time together. And my parents stayed with Miss Shelby one afternoon so I could get my hair cut..it's amazing how relaxing & refreshing a simple hair cut felt. {Oh, the things you take for granted before being a Mommy!} Thank you, Grammy & Grampy!!

Okay, I think we're all caught up now. :) My parents just left this morning {it's always hard to see them go}, so Shelby & I have been busy today getting the house back in order after a fun couple of days! We have Kindermusik class this evening, and Derek might be able to join us for the first time! If he gets to come, that means there will be two extra hands on deck..so someone can handle Shelby and the other can handle the camera. ;) So hopefully I'll be able to share some pictures of Miss Shelby & her friends at music class with you soon!
