Fourth of July Fun!

For the Fourth of July, we took the girls to the circus for their first time! It was a lot of fun!

Shelby was in a trance when the show began! Ha! ;)

We attempted to get a picture of the girls in their matching dresses, but this is the best we could get ;)

Oh, well! Ha! After the failed photo shoot, we put Hadley to bed then ordered some pizza for dinner. Then we headed outside for Shelby to play with poppers & attempt to see some fireworks.

It started raining on the night of the 4th, and the rest of the weekend was wet & dreary! The base even had some roads flood & they had to close one of the gates temporarily. It was crazy how much rain we got! But despite the rain, we still had a wonderful weekend! Here were some of the highlights....

We needed to go to the store, but I didn't think we should go
out in the weather. Derek said: "It's just rain, Sarah. We won't
melt." ;)  I think Derek was just looking for an adventure!

Our first nephew, Leland Wyatt Griffin, was born at 5:48am on
July 6th weighing in at 6lbs & 9oz and 18in long. We can't wait to meet him!

Other highlights not pictured.....

--we did a workout video with Shelby one afternoon..she LOVED it! But it's probably best there's no photographic evidence..ha!
--dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant with the Goins fam! It's so funny to think that we have four kids between us now. Going out to eat certainly isn't as easy as it used to be, but we had a great time with no meltdowns! ;)
--we made {THIS} soup for lunch one afternoon..perfect for a rainy day!
--church & dinner out as a family on Saturday evening.
--LOTS of quality time with Daddy! It's still so crazy to think that residency is over, and we get all of our weekends with Derek at home!
