Hadley's First Time to the Pool & Shelby's "Ouchies"

Tuesday night was Hadley's first time in the pool! I didn't get any great pictures, but I still have to share them b/c it was a first for Baby Hadley! We walked over to the pool after we ate dinner, and it was the perfect time of day to go b/c it wasn't too hot, and we didn't have to worry about sunscreen!

Hadley chillin' in the stroller on the walk over to the pool.
Is it just me or does she look way bigger than 4 months old here?!

Do you see Hadley's poor little bald spot on the back of her head?
Shelby had an almost identical bald spot there, too! ;)
I didn't manage to get any smiles out of Hadley when I had the camera in my hand, but she definitely loved the pool! The water was so warm, I think she probably thought it was bathtime! She was so relaxed the whole time and was just watching everything going on around her. We'll definitely be going back again soon as a family!

And here is Shelby sporting her long-sleeve swimshirt at the pool b/c she doesn't want to be able to see the "ouchies" on her elbow. And, if you look closely, you can see the two ouchies on her knees. Derek & I were actually amazed we got Shelby to get in the pool that night at all. {The only reason she did go in was b/c we promised that Hadley would get in the water.} She got her first "ouchies" last Tuesday {so about a 1.5wks ago now}, and then fell again on Friday night. Her elbow is the worst b/c it was healing and got re-opened in Friday's spill. She has been PITIFUL ever since. She doesn't like to even see the ouchies, so she insists on wearing long sleeves & pants 24/7. And since it's about a bajillion degrees & 100% humidity in the summer months on the Gulf Coast, obviously long sleeves & pants won't cut it outside. So we've been stuck at home ever since. Even when Shelby goes potty, she freaks out pulling her pants down b/c she can see her ouchies. That girl is a mess! It's no wonder she waited so long to crawl & walk...she's not cut out for this kind of stuff!

Today we had to get out of the house to drop off a meal for a family with a new baby. I was able to convince Shelby that her knees were healed enough to be visible, but she was adamant that she needed a cardigan to cover up her elbow.  Oi vey! But at least we're making progress..ha! Here's a picture of her this morning sporting her must-have cardigan. ;)

Shelby tells me about 1.5 trillion times a day "My ouchies are gettin' better, Mama." And you better believe I will be the HAPPIEST mama ever when they are 100% better!

Tomorrow is a Down Friday here at Keesler, so that means it's a 3-day weekend for us! Hopefully with Derek home for 3 days in a row, we'll manage to find the time to finally get Hadley's 4 month pictures taken! ;)

Happy Almost Friday, Everyone! :)
