Happy Very Belated 7 Months to our sweet Baby Hadley!
Waaaaay back on October 19th, you turned 7 months old. In your 6 month
post, I commented that there wasn't a whole lot of "new stuff" to share.
Well, that couldn't be further from the truth for this month! It's been
a BIG month for you, sweet girl! But one thing has remained the
same--you are still the sweetest, most easy-going baby in the world!
You are finally sitting up!!!
You still often lock your knees and try to stand up when we go to sit you down, but your sitting is getting better & better each day!
Here's what Miss Hadley is up to these days....
--finally sitting up!
--becoming a bit mobile with all of your rolling around! Shelby wasn't mobile at all until 10.5 months when she started army crawling, so we were always able to leave her on a blanket or in a certain spot in a room and she'd stay right where we left her. This is not the case with you! It's so fun to see how different your personalities already are!
--You finally dropped your middle of the night feeding & you're sleeping through the night like a champ!
--You usually wake up between 7-8am for the day, which is just delightful! I remember when Shelby first started sleeping through the night, it meant we would have a very early morning wake-up call. We had to slowly train her to start waking up a little bit later in the mornings. It's so nice that you've started sleeping in on your own!
--You take 2 naps a day usually lasting around 1.5-2.5hrs each.
--Eating like CRAZY! Your diet this weekend consisted of pulled pork, grilled cheese, sausage, pepperoni, mandarin oranges, banana, strawberry, french toast, peaches, pears, & probably more that I'm not remembering. You literally eat anything & everything! Your daddy & I hoped that eating would not be a struggle with you like it was for us with Shelby, and our wish came true! You are always as happy as a clam in your high chair! Without a doubt, baby-led weaning was one of our best parenting decisions to date.
--At 6.5 months old on October 8th, you went on a nursing strike. Auntie Em was here visiting, and you woke up from your nap & refused to nurse. You wouldn't nurse again for the rest of that day no matter what I did to try to help you. I did manage to get you to nurse the next 2 mornings when you woke up, but any other time we attempted nursing you would just get so mad at me. It was the craziest thing to see you get so worked up about nursing when you are normally so laid back. Looking back, I still can't believe how sudden your nursing strike was. I was very sad that our nursing days came to an end so abruptly, and it was a bit hard on both of our bodies. There was a lot of pumping on my part, and your digestive system took a bit of a hit b/c it was trying to adjust to solid food when all of a sudden your milk intake went from breastmilk to formula. But we are doing great now that we are in a new routine with formula & bottles. I will say it is nice to be able to feed you whenever & wherever. When you were nursing, we had to be in a quiet room by ourselves or else you refused to eat. Now that you are bottle-fed, I can feed you on the go or at home while I read to Shelby. {Shelby used to have play in her room by herself whenever I nursed you, so it's a special treat for her now to be involved in your feeding times.}
--You love to swing!
--As weird as it sounds, you love to have us rub our heads on you & blow raspberries in your armpits ;)
--Babbling up a storm these days! Mostly just the /b/ sound so far, but it's just as cute as can be!
--Still taking baths in your infant bath tub, but you're about to outgrow it!
--You can still squeeze in to some of your 6 month onesies, but you are mostly wearing 9 month stuff with some 12 month stuff mixed in.
--You wear size 3 diapers & size 4 nighttime diapers for bedtime.

Since I was so late with this post, it won't be long before I'm back with an 8 month post! Hard to believe our little Hadley Mae is getting so big! Hadley, your sweet smiles & infectious laughter make our days so much brighter! We love you!!!
