Moving Out & Camping Out!

On Monday, the packers arrived to pack up our entire house! They packed from about 9-4:30 on Monday & then came back to finish up a little more packing on Tuesday morning before loading the truck. They loaded the truck from probably 10-2, and then the truck headed out for Texas! The moving out process has been so smooth thus far! We really couldn't have asked for anything better! The packers graciously packed the girls' rooms first on Monday afternoon but left their beds, so they were able to take naps that afternoon in their own beds. They both took super long naps that day despite the noise & chaos in the house! I was shocked! They also got to sleep in their own beds Monday night, and Hadley was able to take her morning nap in her own bed Tuesday morning before they packed up their beds. The girls & I got out of the house both days after Hadley's morning nap like we typically do and then ate lunch out to stay out of the way a bit longer. It was really such a smooth & relatively easy process! The hardest part was the weekend before the move getting everything off the walls and trying to organize/label piles of stuff for the movers to move/not move...and then keeping a crawling baby out of said piles. ;)  Here are a few pictures from the moving days!

This picture was taken Tuesday morning before the packers had arrived to finish up packing the house.
Everything was in boxes except for the furniture, so I took the couch cushions off the couch for the
girls to play on & they had the BEST time!

This picture was also taken Tuesday morning as we were waiting on the packers to arrive.
This was Shelby's last bike ride/Hadley's last car ride at Keesler.

Shelby reading her library boks while the packers finished up!

The girls enjoyed watching them load up the truck!

Moving truck all loaded up & headed for TX!

We are "campint out" in our house this week on air mattresses, sleeping bags, & pack n plays; eating "picnics" on the kitchen floor; and enjoying the open space to run around in the house! I "camped out" in our condo in VA for about 6 weeks or so after Derek had already left for Keesler with our household goods {I was finishing up the school year with my Kindergarten class}, and it was totally fine but we weren't exactly sure how it would go with two little ones & no toys. ;)  But it has been SO much better than we could have imagined! The girls are loving it and not missing their toys at all! I did get Shelby a few new special toys to break out if we needed something, but we haven't opened them yet! Aside from Shelby's stuffed animals that she sleeps with, the girls have 4 little Doc McStuffins character figurines {we have 6, but I could only find 4 before the packers got to the toys!} to play with, a beach ball, and books {we kept about 10 books of our own & we have about 25 checked out from the library}...and they've been happy as can be! And I love it b/c there's not a huge mess of toys to clean up every five minutes & they're actually learning to play better with what they do have. Not to mention, Shelby is constantly asking: "Mommy, can we play this? Mommy, can we play that?" ;)

The packers left our table/chairs & highchair out on Monday, so were able to eat dinner normally on Monday night as well as breafkast Tuesday morning..and this was our first "picnic" dinner at the house after the movers left on Tuesday night :)  Shelby probably said at least ten times during the meal: "This is so exciting!" ;)

It was crazy watching all of our stuff go into boxes and realizing that we really do have quite a lot of stuff despite the fact that we've been purging since Thanksgiving. ;)  And then since we've been "camping out," we discover that we really don't need that much stuff after all!

Here's to our last few days in Biloxi!!! I've been taking LOTS of pictures this week, so I'll be back soon! :)
