Halloween 2016

We had such a fun Halloween with the girls this year! We carved our pumpkins the night before Halloween & then did treat or treating in our neighborhood on Halloween night.

This is what carving pumpkins with two girls looks like ;)  Shelby is super sensitive to smells, so of course she thought the smell of the pumpkin was repulsive...and Hadley just does whatever Shelby does ;)

The finished products!
Shelby's jack-o-lantern is on the left--she was very specific what shapes she wanted for each part of the face & we sketched it out on paper before carving. Hadley's jack-o-lantern is on the right--she wanted a cat, so a cat she got! :)

Princess Jasmine & Rajah the tiger all set for trick or treating!!

Hadley's reaction to trick or treating this year was very similar to her reaction all the characters at Disney World. She always wanted to let Shelby go ahead of her to test the waters before she was ready to approach anyone. ;)   She was a little weary of anyone in a mask, but despite her nervousness she did an awesome job saying "trick or treat" at every house & saying "thank you" when we left. :)  She cracked us up b/c we had told Shelby it was polite to say "Happy Halloween" when you leave a house, so every time we walked away from a house Hadley would yell back over her shoulder "Happy Halloween!"

We took the girls to about ten houses or so for trick or treating & then came back home to pass out candy at our house, which the girls think is just as fun as trick or treating!! They also enjoyed diving into their candy buckets to sample some of their loot! :)

Enjoying their new glow bracelets :)

Both girls had ditched their costumes by this point in the night and a light rain had rolled in..the girls had the best time dancing in the rain on the driveway watching the last few trick or treaters left on the street!

Once we turned out our outdoor lights and came in, the girls were quiet as could be--they were in heaven with new glow bracelets & Halloween books from Mommy & Daddy and candy galore to munch on :)

And here's how our Monday morning after Halloween started....I was hoping with the time change over the weekend, it would help get Hadley up at a more decent time in the mornings...but we still had to drag her out of bed today :)

Sweet, sweet sisters reading together before school this morning :)

Happy Monday, Everyone!! :)  I'll try to get the last of our Disney posts up this week!
