that's what she said

Just a few gems out of the mouths of our babes lately that I don't want to forget, enjoy! :)

--Shelby: "I really hope our next house has a basement. What's a basement again?"

--I have no idea where she heard this word, but Hadley keeps using the word "famous" in the most wrong/random contexts. At HEB, I grabbed a can of pumpkin to put in the cart. She snatched it out of my hand and said we couldn't get that can b/c "it wasn't famous." Then in the car while applying her "lipstick" {aka chapstick} for the hundredth time in a row, she told me she had to tell Daddy about her "famous lipstick."

--Every.single.time I put Hadley in her crib for nap or bedtime, she asks me "What day is it?" And it makes me laugh every single time b/c that girl has no clue what the days of the week are or why they would matter to her. ;)  But she has to ask every single time!

--We are apparently officially at the age where Hadley says embarrassing things in public. We were in the UPS store this week checking out. I was busy filling something out when all of a sudeen I hear Hadley say "His cheeks sure are big" while staring at the guy checking us out. OMG. Of course she said it loudly & clearly enough that there was no denying what she said, but thankfully the guy had a good sense of humor and just laughed it off! The very next day we were at Panera ordering our lunch when Hadley said "Why's her hair pink" while staring at one of the employees there. Thankfully, the pink-haired girl was out of earshot when Hadley asked this darling question. ;)

--While driving to pick up Shelby from school one day this week...
Hadley: I found my slap bracelet in my cup holder!!
Me: Oh, yay!
Hadley: (in the most authoritative tone ever) No. Say "woohoo."
Me: (confused) Woohoo!
Hadley: Good job saying woohoo, Mommy.

Happy Saturday to you!! :)
