With a big upcoming move & a new baby on the way, I don't feel like it's ever going to really feel like "summer" to us this year. I feel like we're going to blink & it's going to be time to send Miss Shelby off to Kindergarten & Hadley to preschool! But despite the chaos of our life right now, we've managed to get a little taste of summer in the last week and a half or so since Shelby finished up her school year.

| A trip to the library, of course! |
| Waiting on Charlotte's Web to begin at the children's theater! And of course, Shelby had to proudly show off her missing tooth :) |
| Posing with the Goose & Fern |
| Charlotte & Wilbur |
| Strolling hand in hand on their way to the Tower of the Americas |
| Tower of the Americas! |
| Checking out the view! |
| Checking out summer hats in Target...and still showing off that missing tooth ;) |

| We had some time to kill one afternoon before Daddy came home for dinner. I wanted to take the girls up to the pool b/c it was really hot out, but then I remembered our pool was closed that particular day for cleaning. I decided to set up the baby pool & water table for the girls on the back porch in lieu of going to the pool. I was feeling too lazy to get them changed into their swimsuits, so I let them play in their clothes. Mama's laziness made for a big thrill for them--they thought getting their clothes soaked was about the best thing ever! ;) |
| First taste of fudge pops for both girls, I think it's safe to say they liked them! ;) |
| A rare pool pic of all four of us...thanks, Grammy! :) |

| For the past couple of months, Shelby has been really wanting to see a rainbow. I guess when you're five, you read about rainbows in books, hear songs about rainbows, etc...and that apparently gets frustrating when you've never seen a rainbow in real life before! Well last night we put the girls to bed early at 7 since they didn't nap. When we put them down, it was raining pretty good. Around 8pm, the rain had let up & I looked outside to see a very vivid rainbow!! Derek & I both looked at each other & just knew we had to wake Shelby up to see it for herself! She was beyond out of it when we woke her up, so we knew she probably wouldn't remember seeing it in the morning...so we made sure to take this picture as proof for her that she had in fact seen a rainbow! ;) |
Happy Friday, Everyone!!
