A Visit from the Toothfairy...and Lindsey, too!!

About a week ago, Shelby was staying up late playing card games with Grammy, Daddy, & me when I noticed one of her bottom front teeth looked a little funny. I went to touch it, and sure enough it was loose!!! It was quite the exciting discovery for all of us! Shelby had no clue it was even loose! The next day she would go to tell people it was loose, and the first question they would ask her is: "Which tooth is it?" She would always look at me b/c she couldn't remember which tooth was loose, ha! ;)  Of course, once she finally realized/remembered which tooth was loose, she was wiggling it pretty much non-stop. So about 3 days after we discovered it was loose, it was more than ready to come out!

Last picture with all of her baby teeth!

Daddy's first job when he walked in the door was tooth removal!

First picture with a missing tooth! Can you tell Hadley wasn't quite sure what to make of all of this? ;)

And literally maybe 4 minutes after the tooth came out, Lindsey was knocking on our door!!!!

Selfie shenanigans at the gas station :)

Lindsey flew in from Georgia to spend the weekend with her friend Jenny who lives about an hour away from us. We were so grateful Lindsey was able to carve out an evening from her visit with Jenny to come see us! We seriously had the best time with her! And it worked out so nicely that my mom was still in town. My mom offered to keep the girls for us so we could enjoy some kid-free time together. It was so nice to feel like the old "us"...you know, the "us" before kids & grown-up responsibilities. It seriously felt like we were right back in Athens, except that maybe we look a wee bit older wiser now. ;)  What a blessing it is to have friendships that can withstand the test of time & distance--it doesn't matter how much time has gone by, we can always pick up right where we left off!

And the next morning, we were awoken bright & early by Miss Shelby announcing that the toothfairy had come & she left her a dollar bill! Preschool is over & we've had our first visit from the toothfairy...I think it's safe to say our Shelby-girl is growing up, and it's so bittersweet!
