Things have been a bit quiet on the blog lately. Everyone in our house came down with colds. Thankfully, the colds were pretty short-lived for Derek & the girls, but I cannot seem to kick this bug. I blame my lack of sleep. Brady was sleeping through the night like a champ for about 2 weeks straight, but then he decided to stop doing that once I got sick. Rude! ;) It's practically impossible to get over a cold when you're taking care of a new baby and not sleeping. Between being sick + taking care of a newborn + regular life, we've just been in survival mode around these parts lately.
The other reason things have been quiet on the blog is because GRAMMY & GRAMPY WERE HERE!! My dad had a conference for work in Las Vegas, so my mom tagged along and they spent a few days with us after the conference was over. We had so much fun with them!! We picked them up from the Bellagio where they were staying on Saturday morning & then spent the day downtown. It was the girls' first time on the strip & they had a blast watching the water show at the Bellagio, visiting M&M world, & eating lunch at Rainforest Café.

| Kind of hard to tell in this picture, but the Bellagio had a huge fun fall display. The girls loved walking through it! |

The rest of Grammy & Grampy's visit was more low-key. Sunday brought a trip to the park, swimming, and dinner at Cheesecake Factory. The other highlights of the trip were Grammy & Grampy getting to join Shelby for lunch at school on Monday and then getting to visit Hadley's preschool on Tuesday. And of course, more swimming! The temperature of our pool is getting quite chilly, but we're putting our pool heater to good use!! Here's a few more random shots from their visit...

| The Y has an awesome playground. Every single afternoon when we're walking to our car after preschool, Hadley looks longingly at the playground and says "I wish I could go there one day." So while Grammy & Grampy were here, we packed a picnic lunch and had lunch/playtime after picking Hadley up from preschool. She had so much fun! |

Getting ready to walk to school with Grammy & Grampy
(Hadley was still asleep) |
We dropped my parents off at the airport yesterday afternoon to head back to Georgia. I always love when they come to visit, but I dread the goodbyes. It's always so quiet after they leave, and I'm reminded how much I hate being so far away from home. But I'm so very thankful for two parents who are always more than willing to put their lives on hold to fly across the country & come spend time with us. I know I've said this before, but I truly can't say it enough--I'm not sure who is more blessed, me having them as my parents or my babies having them as their grandparents. There's nothing better than watching your children with their grandparents--such precious, precious memories. Mama and Daddy, thank you for being you. I love you!!
