Doctor Visits to Trunk or Treat

On Friday morning, I loaded up all 3 kiddos and headed over to the base hospital for a 7yr well check for Miss Shelby, a weight check for Brady along with a few of his 12 month shots that we weren't able to get this summer, and flu shots for all 4 of us! Going to see Daddy at work is always a favorite for all of us, but a crazy long wait in a cramped exam room with five people isn't exactly ideal...especially when one of them is a very busy 15 month old. Derek snuck over to his office & came back armed with Dum-Dums! We strapped Brady back in his stroller with a Dum-Dum & bib (this kid loves suckers, but he is so messy with them!!) while we waited, and all was right in the world again. ;)

{All smiles to get her flu shot from Daddy!}

{Hadley wasn't quite so sure about this!}

At 7 years old, Shelby weighed in at 59 pounds, which puts her in the 79th percentile for weight. She measured 50.9 inches, which is the 90th percentile. This is by far the lowest Shelby has ever been in the percentiles (she's typically off the charts high!), which was surprising to me b/c she is still heads and shoulders above her classmates.

Brady weighed in at 22 pounds & 10 ounces, which is the 22nd percentile. The reason we had to come back for a weight check was b/c his weight gain slowed down considerably after his 6 month visit, but that was right when his mobility took off! The girls were always off the charts as babies in their weight, but they weren't anywhere near as active as Brady. He measured 32 inches, which put him at the 75th percentile for height. Brady is all caught up on his shots, so now we're good to go until his 18month well visit after Christmas! That will be here before we know it!

Then that evening, we had Trunk or Treat at the girls' school. We were a little worried about how Brady might do at Trunk or Treat since he missed his morning nap while we were at the doctor, he'd had a flu shot on top of his 12 month immunizations, and we were keeping him up way past his bedtime...but he was his usual go-with-the-flow self! It was such a fun night!

Shelby is a witch, Hadley is a toothfairy, and Brady is a pumpkin. Hadley wanted to wear a costume we already had, and Brady is wearing the same costume Shelby wore as a baby...so it was a very economical year for us in the costume department! ;)

And just for grins, here are a couple of pictures of Shelby in the pumpkin costume in 2011. She was wearing it at 13 months old, and Brady is wearing it at 15 months old.

{Please note how with Baby #1, we had a backyard photo shoot complete with props prior to Halloween. Those are days gone by, people! Days gone by!}

{And this last one is Brady, I thought it was a good comparison to the one of Shelby eating the candy corn}

Hope you had a great weekend!!! I'll be back soon with a recap of our day trip to St. George, Utah on Saturday--we had sooooo much fun!
