And the obligatory comparison to our first day of school pictures from the fall of 2019--this was certainly a year for the record books!
A few weeks ago, we picked up all of the kids' supplies, work, art, etc. from the school year, and it was like Christmas morning for each of them going through all of their things after being away from school for so long!
And a couple more Distance Learning pictures for good measure....
Brady's teachers always did fun songs & finger plays during his Zoom meetings, so Hadley often enjoyed listening in.
And this last picture captures something I'm not sure I will ever forget. After months of Distance Learning, daily Google Meets and Zooms, watching/listening to read-alouds over Facebook, and watching Mommy record lessons & read-alouds for our church kiddos...I think it's safe to say the age-old game of "playing school" no longer looks the same. I am constantly overhearing the girls "recording videos" for their students. In the picture below, Hadley's mirror in her caboodle is her "camera" and she is reading aloud a My Weird School book to her students a la Dan Gutman (who we watch every afternoon at 1:00 before naps/quiet time). Such weird times we are living in!!
The girls had the BEST teachers this year, and they both really and truly enjoyed their Distance Learning all the way until the very end. The girls' school & Brady's school had special parades, and both of them left me teary-eyed! We are so thankful to be a part of such amazing school communities, and we are hoping & praying we'll be able to return to school normally in the fall! But for now, BRING ON SUMMER!!!
