Snapshots from April

 Happy almost May! Enjoy this hodge podge of pictures from our days over the past month...

{I don't know why, but all 3 of our kiddos love playing in their closets! This is how I found them after school today.}

{After a long day at school + a trip to the library, this guy fell asleep on our drive home.}

{This is what the boys' haircuts look like in the summer!}

We had a little mini impromptu photo shoot in front of our rose bushes the other day because they have just been exploding with blooms! I was worried they might not make it through our severe low temps + snow/ice in February, but they came back better than ever! Each kiddo planted a rose bush for me on our first Mother's Day in this house. In front of each rose bush is a stepping stone with a handprint/footprint from each kiddos {that was a Mother's Day gift to me when we were living in Las Vegas.}

The next few pictures below are of Hadley's belated birthday trip with me. Every year, I take the birthday kiddo on a special one-on-one date to Barnes & Noble to pick out a new book of their choosing & get a treat. Hadley tacked on a trip to Claire's as well. :)

{movie night!}

{new handmade headbands from Grandma!}

And last, but certainly not least, we got to see the Angela & the boys this month!! They came to San Antonio for the boys' Spring Break to visit their aunt, uncle, and new baby cousin...and we got to squeeze in some time with them while they were here! I miss doing regular life with them like crazy, but I'm always so thankful for every bit of time we get together. What a gift their friendship is to our family!

The picture above was taken on the field at Bigz. Here's a flashback to another group picture at Bigz {the field is in front of us in this shot} in 2014. These kids just keep growing!

Snapshots from March

I think these posts may become a regular monthly installment. So before April has already come and gone, here are a few snapshots from March...first up is a picture from Friday Movie Night!

Derek is the official sewer/mender of clothes in our house, but Hadley is now his apprentice & is eager to take over the job! She spends a LOT of her free time at home + at school doing various types of handwork (felting, embroidery, crocheting, etc.), and this skill is coming in handy for her leggings with holes in the knees! :)

The next two pictures below are of our Family Art Project, which is an annual tradition and a special part of our school Art Show.

{Art Show!}

{Art Show! Hadley made a box sculpture replica of Shelby, which currently resides on Hadley's bedroom shelf & serves as a jewelry holder for all of her accessories.}

{Ms. Nicole's Book Signing!}

The last two pictures of Hadley are with our newest indoor rabbit at school. We also just got two brand new piglets at school as well as a bantam frizzle Polish chicken! Always lots of excitement at MM! :)

Library Reopening!!!

About two weeks ago, our library finally reopened its doors & we couldn't be happier! Our library was completely shut down at the onset of COVID,  and then since last summer it's been open for curbside pick-up only of holds + all library returns had to "quarantine" for 96 hours before being checked back in. But 13 months later, it is now open for what they're calling "brisk browsing," and it seriously feels like we've won the lottery! The library has always been our happy place, and I didn't realize quite how much we'd missed it until we were able to return. So, so thankful!!!

One step closer to normalcy!
