What We've Been Reading

Here's a little glimpse at what we've been reading lately!

 

Every night I always read aloud to the kids all together before bed. But on week nights, Brady goes to bed much earlier than the girls (since he doesn't get a nap on school days), so I read to all three kids, then we put Brady to bed, and then Derek & I read alongside the girls until they go to bed. This has been such a sweet way to end our days together! Derek isn't typically one to read for pleasure, but we're finally finding him some books that he's enjoying, too!

There are definitely some hits (I'm currently reading Open right now, and I'm typically not keen on memoirs/autobiographies, but I am LOVING it so far! American Dirt was another hit for me!) and misses (I'm looking at you, All Adults Here & I Didn't See That Coming) in this bunch. Adventures with Waffles was the Book Club pick for Hadley's class for the Spring, and we all LOVED it! I read Holes with them for the first time, and we were all huge fans of the book & the movie. We're also re-reading Flora & Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo after watching the new Disney movie based on the book.
