Once we decided we were going to Boston for Spring Break, I quickly announced that I wanted to go to Nantucket, too! It was quite the ordeal to get there, but we made it happen! We woke up
super early and walked to the subway station. We had to ride the subway to catch a 6:30am bus to Hyannis. Then from there, we walked about a half mile to board a ferry to Nantucket. Whew! It was the craziest thing to get to walk around such a picturesque town that I've read about it in so many novels. Almost everything on the island was closed for the season--it seems like most things are only open June-August, which makes sense but also kind of surreal. But we were still able to see & do quite a bit--the whaling museum, the local bookstore, the lighthouse & beach, public library, the oldest house on the island, mailed post cards from the Nantucket post office, and dessert on the pier!

I'm tired just thinking about that day! But it sure was a fun one.
