We had a wonderful Halloween! The kids enjoyed Halloween donuts, painted pumpkins, carved pumpkins (Shelby carved hers entirely on her own again for the second year in a row!), Shelby dressed up as a vampire for school, and then we had three villains (Darth Vader, Maleficent, and Mother Gothel) on our hands for trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!
I had planned to prep white chicken chili in the crock pot for an easy, warm dinner before trick-or-treating, and these two practically did it all! Brady opened all of the cans, dumped them in the crock pot for me, rinsed out the cans, and then took the empty cans out to the recycling bin. Hadley chopped the onion & minced the garlic way better than I ever could, and voila!
We lucked out with a mild, snow-free Halloween! I think the high got up to 40 degrees that day! I think it was low-mid 30s during trick-or-treating, which is certainly cold but not as cold as it was last year at this time! We were so thankful! The kids put on lots of layers under their costumes, and they were good to go!
Shelby had an orthodontist bright (er...dark?!) & early on November first....and boy did that feel early after a night of Halloween fun! But we got it done!
