Here is a quick look back at the month of October! We had much milder temperatures than last October and very little snow! In fact, I don't think we've seen as many days of sunshine as we did this past month!
We spent an afternoon homeschooling and playing games at our favorite library downtown one afternoon before one of Shelby's cross country meets.
Scooter rides during Shelby's piano lesson, and finding the first bits of ice of the season!
{Brady loves to snuggle Derek on the bench--or sit on my lap--during his basketball games when he's not on the court}
{the girls on the bleachers at Brady's game}
{the girls spent about an hour doing this one day..they would pass the paper back and forth and take turns adding details to a collaborative drawing}
{everyone doing handwork--or snoozing!--while I read aloud Echo..this is always my fave part of the day!}
I got a text from Derek that he would be bringing flu shots home for the kids that evening, and these were their reactions:
{homeschool at the dentist's office}
The next few pictures are from the first snowfall of the season! It snowed huge flakes almost all day long, but there was hardly any accumulation. That afternoon we had to drive into Anchorage, and the roads weren't even wet & it looked like they hadn't had even seen a single flurry there! Weather is wild!
{Our donut shop is only open for a few hours every morning until they sell out. They happened to have still have their "open" light on one day when we were driving past to go to ice skating lessons, so we had to pop in! Best decision ever!}
We added "mailboxes" outside each of our bedroom doors recently to encourage more writing....and it was a big hit!
We went to the Reindeer Farm for their Fall Festival & had so much fun even though it was cold, drizzly, and beyond muddy!
Mild, sunny Sunday afternoon meant we had to go down to the Eagle River!
{the absolute cutest}
{First advanced orchestra concert is in the books!}
After reading Ra the Mighty: Cat Detective, we hosted a book party! Lots of fun was had!
Another mild sunny weekend brought us to the Eagle River Nature Center for a hike.
Hadley's friend Rosemary moved to Japan this past summer, and she was in town visiting for the week. We enjoyed our time with her so much!
