Book Post #2 of 2024!

Happy March! I wish it felt like spring here, but it is currently a balmy 14 degrees with a feels like temperature of negative one. It is still winter in full-force in these parts, ha! But alas, it is time for my next reading round-up!

I really enjoyed all of the books in this bunch! The Story of the World (Volume I), Mr. Lemoncello's Very First Game, and The Adventures of Miss Petitfour were all homeschool read-alouds for us. We are big fans of all three!

I would say Stolen Focus is the book that stayed with me the most. My poor family probably got sick of me reading aloud passages of the book that resonated with me. ;)  The Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma was referenced in the book, so we watched that after I finished reading it--I would highly recommend watching it if you have access to Netflix (or maybe your local library may have the DVD on hand?). It definitely reinforced why we are prolonging the use of cell phones for our children, and Derek & I agreed we want our kids to watch this documentary before they get their own phones one day (whenever that may be!).

A few years ago I read Simplicity Parenting (which I loved!), and The Soul of Discipline is by the same author. It made me re-think some of the language I use in everyday conversation as a parent & home educator.
