Love/Hate Relationship

I have a love/hate relationship with Pottery Barn. I love all of their stuff. I love getting the catalogs in the mail and leisurely perusing through them..I often wish I could have every single thing in the catalog. But I don't need every single thing that I like in the catalog, nor is it necessary to spend that much money on certain things...b/c let's face it, PB can be a bit pricey at times. But sometimes, the price is worth it...for example, we bought all of Shelby's nursery furniture from PBK and we have been very pleased with it. But other times, their things are not worth the price...

This is the hate part of the relationship--high prices doesn't always equal high quality. Every now and again, I allow myself to splurge on something from PB. For instance, I have always liked their Christmas stockings...and we needed new stockings this year b/c of the new addition to our family. So I splurged and bought 3 new stockings and had them monogrammed. I could have just gotten stockings at Target, but I paid the extra money hoping for beautiful, quality stockings. Well, the stockings were nice enough...but the monograms looked like crap. So frustrating. {I ended up returning them and got 3 replacement stockings, but I had them monogrammed somewhere else.} Well, apparently I didn't learn my lesson from that bad experience. A while back, I wanted a new wreath hanger. I fell in love with this one from PB...

After anxiously awaiting its arrival in the mail, I was so disappointed when it arrived. The engraving was not so hot, and to make matters worse it didn't even fit over the door! Argh. So, I ended up getting this one from Target recently...it's only a fraction of the price, and the best part is that it does what it's supposed to..it actually fits over the door. What a concept!
Then, I just checked the mail this afternoon..and what was in the mailbox?? The PBK catalog, of course. And there are the cutest Easter baskets. Hopefully I will be able to resist the temptation..b/c with my luck it probably wouldn't turn out the way I'd hoped it would. I have been searching on Etsy for a cute monogrammed basket for Shelby..does anyone have any recommendations??
