Happy {Belated} Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!

We hope y'all had a great Fourth! We had a quiet, laid-back day at our house. Derek had to work yesterday, and Shelby and I just stayed at home. We tried to make a trip out to the Marina Park yesterday evening to let Shelby play, but the bugs were just terrible. So we settled for the playground behind our house. :)  As much as we would have loved to go out and see the fireworks on the beach, a 21 month old's bedtime doesn't really coordinate well with when the fireworks shows start. So while Shelby got her beauty sleep, Derek & I heard/saw fireworks from our living room as we enjoyed our Olive Garden To-Go & Friday Night Lights via Netflix on the couch. ;)  Even though it wasn't your typical Fourth of July evening plans, we really had a great night together. Hopefully next year Shelby will be able to stay awake long enough for us to enjoy the fireworks as a family!
