Christmas with Granddad & Grandma

Granddad & Grandma (Derek's dad & step-mom) arrived on Friday afternoon (December 29th) to celebrate a belated Christmas here with us in Biloxi. We were so excited that they were willing to make the trip here to celebrate with us in our home. It was so nice having them here! We opened gifts & had a nice dinner at home with Granddad & Grandma on Friday evening.

On Saturday, it was cold & windy so we stayed close to home. Shelby did convince Granddad, Grandma, & Daddy to take her out to the playground behind our house though. I thought they would only last a few minutes outside b/c it was so chilly, but they probably played outside for a good hour! Apparently Shelby was the only one who didn't realize how cold it was. ;)  I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the fun they were having outside, but I was busy taking a leisurely shower in peace & quiet. :)  It was heavenly! Later that evening, we all went to dinner at Margaritaville. They had a live musician playing that night who totally captivated Shelby's attention (and we enjoyed listening to him, too--he was very Phillip Phillips-esque if you will), so Derek & I were actually able to sit and enjoy our dinner. ;) 

Granddad & Grandma had to hit the road back to GA on Sunday morning. We were sad to see them go, but we are so thankful for such a fun visit with them! Shelby is already ready for them to come back b/c she keeps asking to play with Granddad & Grandma. ;)
