On Christmas Morning, I was up early but Derek & Shelby both slept in. When Shelby finally woke up, I could hear her saying "Ho, Ho, Ho!" over the monitor. :) It was the cutest thing ever! When we came downstairs, she quickly ran over to check on the milk, cookies, and carrots we had left out the night before.

We think Shelby was a little confused as to how Santa & the reindeer ate their treats
since she never saw them ;) |
After Shelby rounded the corner from where we left the treats for Santa & the reindeer, she stopped dead in her tracks. We were so excited to video her excited reaction to all of her Christmas goodies, but she was more overwhelmed than anything I think. She just kind of stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what had happened to our living room..ha! We think next year is when she'll really "get" it. ;) Here is what was waiting for Shelby in our living room:
| Shelby spotted her kitchen from Grammy & Grampy right away! |
| Checking out all of her new food! |
| And of course sampling some of it ;) We're still working on pretending to eat the food..ha! |
| Shelby got lots of new books for Christmas and had to read each one of them after she opened it! |
| Mr. Potato Head was a big hit! |
When it was time to open our stockings, we told Shelby we wanted to take her picture
before we started opening them. So she just ran over there, squatted down in front of the
stockings, and said "Cheese!" Since when is she old enough to voluntarily pose for a picture?! |
After opening presents, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of french toast & bacon made by Daddy! Even Shelby enjoyed the french toast! After breakfast, we played with new toys and watched Christmas movies in our PJ's all morning. Then we all took Christmas naps before heading over to our friends' house for dinner. We spent Christmas night with the Goins, and it was the perfect way to spend our holiday away from family! They spoiled us with a delicious dinner, and the kids had the best time playing together. We are so thankful to have such wonderful friends!

This wraps up all of my Christmas 2012 blog posts! :) We truly had a wonderful Christmas..so many great memories! But we know next year will be even more fun as Shelby will be older and getting into the Christmas spirit more...not to mention we will have a new member of our family to enjoy the holiday with!! We can't wait!
