Our Weekend

Derek was on call on Friday and ended up admitting a crazy number of patients, so he worked a lot more hours at the hospital this weekend than we anticipated. But he had Monday off, so it wasn't too bad! On Sunday, Derek was home by lunchtime..so he napped with Hadley on the couch during Shelby's naptime, which gave me a 3 hour block of time to shower & get stuff done around the house...such a rare treat! Then that evening, we headed over to our friends' house to spend some time with them and meet the newest addition to their family!

We absolutely love the Goins Family! They have been such a blessing to us, and we are so thankful for their friendship. Shelby & Adam are 3 months apart & the babies are 6 weeks apart. Aside from our children's ages, Angela & I just have SO much in common and I truly don't know what I would do without her! It was such a joy to meet their new little guy this weekend. Angela & I have big plans of moving Shelby & Adam into the dorms at UGA together one day and then Hadley & Will a couple years later...then there will be lots of big family tailgates. And we're hoping our kids will go along with the idea of arranged marriages! ;)

On Monday morning, Derek stayed home with the girls so I could go to my 6 week post-partum check up at the hospital. As sad as it sounds, it was actually a treat to go to my appointment and get an hour of peace & quiet! Ha! After my appointment, we loaded up the girls in the car and headed over to Gulfport to run a quick errand and then to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch & playtime. Shelby had a blast!

When we got home from Chuck E. Cheese, Derek napped on the couch with Hadley again during Shelby's naptime to give me some time to get things done! After naps, we headed outside for a walk around the neighborhood b/c it was such a nice evening! Here's a couple videos I captured of Shelby riding her tricycle on our walk...

Derek is back on call today, so it's just me & the girls! We went to storytime at the library this morning and then over to play at Excel by Five. And after naptime, we're headed out to Kindermusik & Chick-Fil-A for dinner! It's a fun, full day!
