Life with a Two Year Old, Round Two

It was was so fun for me to re-read {THIS POST} I wrote about life with a two year old after Shelby's 2nd birthday. It's so funny to me how similar our girls are yet how different they are!

Hadley, 2 years old

Shelby, 2 years old

--According to her two year well visit, Hadley is currently 34.75 inches tall (71st percentile) and weighs 28.8 pounds (76th percentile). Strangers always comment to me on how tall Hadley is, but I feel like she is such a peanut compared to Shelby at that age who was off the charts for height & weight. But truly, I think a lot of it is just my biased perspective. We called Shelby "our big girl" at this age, but Hadley is still our baby. ;)

--We go for walks all the time around neighborhood with Shelby on her bike & Hadley pushing her stroller. She loves pushing that little thing!
--She talks up a storm and regularly strings together 4-5 word sentences these days. One of the things that she still regularly says incorrectly is instead of "open it," it comes out "open-en it." Cracks me up every single time!!
--You love to read!
--Because of your big sister, you are totally into all of the Disney princesses! But you're also obsessed with Grinch & Max from Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I love how you idolize your big sister, but you're still own your person even at the age of 2!
--Shelby has always enjoyed dressing up, but you are really into it! Your favorite thing to do is raid the closet by our front door & put on Shelby's shoes. ;)
--You love to be held all the time, especially when I'm in the kitchen. ;)  I hear "hold you please" all.day.long. But of course when I need to hold you in the parking lot or in a store, all you want to do is walk..it's super convenient. ;)
--You LOVE sitting up on the counter in the kitchen.
--You are fiercely independent--already starting to get dressed on your own!
--You're a master at fake crying/throwing a fit to get your way. ;)
--You could take or leave naps, and I don't really know how I feel about that. ;)  Some days you still nap, but if you don't fall asleep you're perfectly content to play in your crib for a couple of hours during naptime & you always sleep a minimum of 12 hours at night, so I'll take it. ;)
--You love to snuggle & be sweet!

The girls had a blast at Hadley's check-up a couple of weeks ago. They adore going to "Daddy's workey turkey," and the highlight for Shelby is getting to ride on the escalator! ;)  And since Derek didn't have clinic that day, he even got to join us for Chick-fil-a afterward! :)

Playing doctor while waiting on the doctor to come in ;)

Chick-fil-a!

Hadley Mae, you are the perfect combination of sassy & sweet, and we love you to pieces!
