Top Five Friday + Hadley's First Hair Cut!!

It's been forever since I've done one of these posts, so I figured it was well overdue!! :)

1. Urban Decay Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray {HERE}
I'm not big into beauty products, but when I had my makeup done for my sister's wedding last summer they used a makeup setting spray on all of us & it was nothing short of MIRACULOUS! Up until my sister's wedding, I never even knew makeup setting spray was a thing!!! She told it was like hairspray for our face, genius! I usually had to use Clean & Clear's oil absorbing sheets on a daily basis to keep the facial shine at bay (I have super oily skin), but this stuff has totally changed that! I love it!

2. Carter's & Hanna Andersson
Shelby is only 4 but has been out of toddler sizes for a while, and it was a serious challenge to find age-appropriate clothes (read: cutesy stuff that a little girl should be wearing, not short shorts & tops with spaghetti straps) for her to wear in her size...not to mention find a clothing line that ran from toddler sizes up to big girl sizes to enable the girls to have some matching outfits. Carter's & Hanna Andersson are the only places we shop for the girls now! I never even set foot in either of these places until we moved here! I had never heard of HA before, and I didn't even know Carter's stores existed--I thought their line was just for babies & sold in other stores like Kohl's or Macy's. You learn something new every day!

3. {THIS} jean jacket from Old Navy
Mommyhood has me totally behind the eight ball in the fashion world, and I can't even really blame the girls. Sure it's hard to find time to shop for myself these days, but I have a whole lot more fun buying cute matching outfits for two little girls anyways. ;)  I started reading a fashion blog called {Pinterest Told Me To}, and it has helped me at least know what to shop for! The author of the blog is always talking about her "must have" denim jacket from Nordstrom, but I snagged mine on sale for 15 bucks at Old Navy! :)  I've been amazed how many outfits I can pair it with. I'm trying to get as much use out of it as I can now b/c I know the San Antonio heat won't let me wear it for much longer. ;)

4. Chipotle Chicken Tostadas
We tried {THIS} recipe last week. Taco night is a staple in our house, but we'd never made tostadas before. These were so, so good and so, so ridiculously easy! We'll definitely be making these again soon! We've always loved Mexican/Tex-Mex type foods, but it's gone to a whole new level since we've moved to San Antonio. ;)

5. Fresh hair cuts :)
Apparently, it's hair cut week for the Smith household! Derek cut his hair last night, I had the girls' hair cut today (Hadley's very first hair cut!!), and my appointment is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. ;)  Nothing like a good fresh cut!

Both of the girls love this little kids salon around the corner from our house, but I miss my stylist from MS in the worst way. Shantel cut my hair and she had two nieces close in age to Shelby, so I tried her for Shelby's first hair cut & she was amazing with her. The kids salon does okay, but their "thing" is to play a show for the kids while they cut their hair. But that theory doesn't work out so well when you want the kids to look down to cut the back of their hair, but they want to look up to see the screen you put in front of them! Anyhow, all of that to say, a stylist who is good with kids is a million times better than a kids salon with screens. ;)

Before

Hadley's hair was getting really in the back, but only the underneath layers if that makes sense. It's still really short in the front, so we just evened it all up today. :)

I was really nervous how Hadley would do b/c she is a quintessential two year old right now and a total wild card, you never know when a tantrum might hit you! But she was a pro & even sat more still than Shelby did today!

This face cracks me up!

She wasn't too sure about the blow dryer though ;)

All finished with lollipops in hand :)

She looks so much bigger now!

Happy Friday, Everyone!!
