We are expecting a BABY BOY this summer...eek!!!
Ever since we told Shelby we were adding another baby to our family, she has been adamant that she wanted it to be a baby brother. In her mind, she already had a sister...so naturally, she thought she needed a brother this time around! ;) We were thrilled for her sake that she got her wish! ;) But I will admit, I am still kind of shock that we're having a BOY!!! You always hear people tell stories of how different their pregnancies were when they carried a different gender, so I just assumed something might feel a little different this time around. But, nope! This pregnancy has been pretty much a carbon copy of the girls' pregnancies thus far. I had super easy pregnancies with both girls, and this one has been just as easy, dare I say even easier somehow. So since this pregnancy felt the same as the previous two, I just assumed it had to be another girl. When we had the 20 week ultrasound in early February, I was seriously flabbergasted when they announced it was a boy! Even though I saw the evidence with my own eyes, I still kind of doubted it. ;) Since that ultrasound, we've had two additional ultrasounds that have confirmed the gender. Then we even had a genetic blood test done {more on that later!}, and when Derek texted me to tell me that the results had all come back clear he also told me: "Buckle up...genetically confirmed boy!" ;) With the girls, I always had a little sliver of doubt in the back of my mind that we'd end up with a surprise gender discovery at the birth b/c we never had an additional ultrasound after the 20 week anatomy scan. But there is no denying it this time, WE'RE HAVING A BOY!

We are beyond excited to be adding another sweet baby to our family! We can't wait to meet him, see his precious face, and watch the girls become big sisters to a sweet new little brother!

Congratulations! I love following your blog and watching your sweet family grow.
