Weekend Recap!

We had the BEST weekend with the most gorgeous spring weather! I had a hair cut scheduled for early Saturday morning, and then as soon as I got back home we headed out for Disney on Ice! Both girls loved the show! It's always so fun to see their expressions as they watch the show & see it through their eyes.

The show started at 11:30, so we planned ahead of time to just forgo naps for the day. {Why oh why do shows that cater to small children only offer show times that fall in the middle of the day when kids should be napping or in the evening when they should be in bed?! Who is in charge of this stuff?!} Sometimes our weekends can be kind of rushed b/c we're always trying to squeeze in our fun before & after naps, but it was kind of liberating to have the whole day to ourselves for a change! After the show, we headed to Panera for lunch & then went to OP Schnabel Park to enjoy the gorgeous weather. We've never been to a park in the middle of a weekend day, so we had no idea how crowded the playground would be! Who knew the rest of the world still goes on at 3pm?! Thankfully, the girls love the trails at the park so we just did some exploring instead. There are some cliffs toward the back of the trails, and much to this nervous Mommy's dismay, Shelby was enthralled with them. Begrudgingly, I agreed to let Derek take them back there to explore more. I attempted to join in the fun/death trap but could only do so much b/c I was wearing flats...which aren't the best climbing shoes as it turns out. ;)  I don't feel like these pictures do it justice, but the girls flat out amazed Derek & me with how well they could climb! And clearly it wore them out, Hadley ended up sleeping over 14 hours that night!!

Saturday was just so, so fun and we all immensely enjoyed our day together! Today was a much more low-key day--pancakes for breakfast, church, lunch, and the return of naptime!! :)  And I know I post these same pictures practically every week, but how can you resist taking a picture of two sweet girls picking wildflowers?!

Hope you've had a wonderful first weekend of April as well, friends!
