MM Annual Gingerbread Decorating Party

We recently attended the annual gingerbread decorating party at Brady's school. It is such a fun family Christmas event that helps support the school inancially. This year we purchased two houses--one for the girls to decorate together & one for Brady to decorate with Mama & Dada's help. We were a little worried about how the girls would do collaborating creatively, but they blew us away and worked together like a dream! It was a really fun morning!

It was such a beautiful morning that day & it just so happened that it was the first Saturday in December, which meant that it was Market Day in Old Town Helotes with lots of vendors set up in the streets. So we walked down to Market Day from Brady's school, and it was just such a sweet morning and we ran into so many friends while we were there. It really felt like we were starting to find our "community" here.

And then it was back home to cheer on our Dawgs in the SEC Championship game! Of course the game didn't turn out as we hoped, but it was another great season for our team!

After church & naps on Sunday, Derek wanted to make Molasses Crinkle cookies with the kids for the first time! Smelling the fresh gingerbread cookies at the party the day before reminded him of this recipe that he used to make when he was little with his mom. As you can tell below, Brady was a big fan of the dough!

The dough had to chill overnight & then we made the cookies on Monday evening when everyone was home from school/work. It was a lot of fun to do together!

We found the perfect spot for the gingerbread houses in our Christmas décor at home, and looking at them just makes me so happy! Looking forward to attending this fun event for many years to come! Here's a quick flashback to our first gingerbread party in 2014:
