Christmas Break + New Year's Eve

We have had the BEST Christmas Break thus far. It has been the perfect balance of productivity, relaxation, and fun. Derek  had the first week of our break completely off from work with us, and then he only had to work three days this week...it has been glorious having so much time with him at home! He spent the first couple of days in the garage getting a lot of maintenance/repairs done to our cars. Since then we've played board games galore, we went to the movie theater to see Sing 2, took a day trip to Lost Maples, finally got Shelby a dresser from Ikea & rearranged her room, installed our last set of plantation shutters in the upstairs bedrooms{yay!!}, the girls have written countless letters to their friends, and we've watched lots of bowl games together!

The kids & I took a little trip to La Cantera yesterday while Derek was at work to spend the girls' gift cards & Christmas money. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. It was a perfect day to be walking around La Cantera, and we even enjoyed our Chick-fil-a lunch al fresco!

Today was New Year's Eve, and we spent the morning at Chicken N Pickle {which is similar to Top Golf except instead of golf it's with pickle ball and various other outdoor sports.} We played pickle ball & bocce ball before coming home to watching the college football playoff games. We let the kids stay up late for the first time ever on NYE, and we made cookies & shot off fireworks together. It was a fun night! GO DAWGS!

We are so thankful for all of the memories and lessons learned in 2021 and are excited for what 2022 will hold for our family! Happy New Year!

Christmas Day 2021

Almost all of these next pictures are blurry, but I had to post them. Derek, Shelby, and I gifted brady a UGA football, and his reaction was simply the best!

Watching the kids gift each other presents this year was really special.

{new clip-on earrings from BooBoo were a big hit!}

Again, these next pictures are so blurry bAuut couldn't go without posting. Brady has been obsessed with Leland's UGA football helmet for the past two years we've visited them. Leland is always so kind with Brady, and Brady pretty much wears it non-stop when we're at their house. So for Christmas this year, the Griffins gifted Brady his own helmet! Since he opened those gifts Christmas morning, the helmet & football literally go everywhere with him!!

The kids' big gift from Santa was Echo Dots for each of their bedrooms, which they have absolutely loved so far. I admittedly spent far too long being grumpy with technology frustrations on Christmas afternoon trying to get them all synced up and working properly, but other than that we had a wonderful Christmas celebration!

Christmas Eve 2021

We decorated sugar cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, and thanks to sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s we were able to do it outside!

The girls and I attended the Christmas Eve service at our church, while the boys stayed home due to a lingering cough for Brady. But since it was so nice out, they grilled out for us for our Christmas Eve dinner! After dinner, we got into jammies, opened presents from Grandma & Granddad, and got ready for Santa!
