While we were in Georgia, my dad's boss threw him a retirement party in Buckhead at a virtual golf club. It was such a neat place, and we were so thankful we got to be there to celebrate the culmination of my dad's career with Atlanta Classic Cars. As I was talking with some of my dad's coworkers who have literally watched my grow up over the years, I was reminded of all of the summer family picnics ACC hosted at Lake Lanier when I was little. And it just felt like a full circle moment to now be at a work event for my dad with my kids in tow. Life is crazy.

And a throwback picture just because....
And one more throwback because no matter how busy my dad was, he always made time to coach my team or be on the sidelines for every game. I always appreciated that growing up, but I can appreciate it on a whole new level now that I am a parent. I'm proud of all his hard work over the years providing for our family, but I'm even more proud of him for the way he led our family and continues to do so now.
And in the spirit of keeping it real, as we were leaving the very fancy club after the retirement party for my dad, a child who shall not be named threw the most epic of tantrums in the bathroom on the way out. Ugh. Thankfully, everyone's behavior was top-notch throughout the party, and we were literally the last ones leaving when it happened. But still. The chaos of the week had just caught up to us. The first few days of our trip were busy, busy, busy. Thursday: A regular school day, and then we immediately left for the airport. Kids didn't get to bed that night until suuuper late. Friday: A day drip to Dahlonega. Saturday: UGA game in Athens, which was an all day affair. Sunday: my dad's retirement party in Buckhead. A full week of school, traveling to Atlanta, and then three full days of vacation with no naps--it was a lot. Thankfully, the rest of the week was a much slower pace filled with copious amounts of family time! We enjoyed every minute of it!

And just like that, it was time to head back to San Antonio. We flew back home on Thanksgiving evening, and I have never seen the Atlanta airport so quiet in my entire left. It was almost eerie.
After a rough week at times with Brady, he was the sweetest little travel buddy on the way home. He sat next to me looking at the safety information for the longest time. He pointed at the plane in the brochure pictured below {that was in water} and said: "Woah, it's a bad day for that plane." The intonation in his voice was absolutely hysterical.
We are so thankful for the opportunity to travel and be with family over Thanksgiving!
