We spent the rest of our weekend catching up on sleep and decking the halls!
{annual gingerbread party with our sweet school}
{Shelby's Winter Piano Recital}
Our school is located in Old Town Helotes, which is less than 5 minutes from our house. Old Town puts on an annual Christmas parade. This is the first year our school has participated in the parade. Shelby was Mary, Hadley was an angel, and Brady was a pig. Most of the parade floats toss candy to the children. A group of the teachers at our school handmade 300 small wooden peg dolls to give to the children in lieu of candy, which was truly a labor of love. We fortunately got one of the first spots in the parade, so once we got to the end of the parade route the kids got to watch the rest of the parade. It was a fun night with friends sharing the story of the first Christmas!

{The Primary Class puts on a Nativity Play every year. The oldest group of the children serves as the stage crew and narrators of the play, which is why Hadley is dressed in all black.}
{Dunkin Donuts to start off our last day of school before Christmas Break!}

Every year, we wrap our Christmas books and place them under our Christmas card tree. Every night before bed, they take turns opening a present and operating the train. In recent years, we have also added reading a chapter of the book of Luke to our advent tradition.
And of course caroling in our neighborhood! We started this in 2014 and have done it every year since, one of our very parts of Christmas!
