Shelby's Sweet Shoppe: The Details!

Here are some of the little details from Shelby's first birthday party....
It maybe have been Shelby's birthday, but it was also gameday people! So naturally, we had to incorporate UGA into some of the party decor! ;)
We already had candy canes from our Christmas decorations, and then I converted the bubble wands (from Target's One Spot) into lollipops by covering them in plastic wrap (is that what you call that stuff??) and tying them with ribbon. And thank you Mom for the cute birthday garden flag! :)
You can see the candy wreath that I made in the picture below. These were very simple to make. Derek did most of the work by using a box cutter to cut circles out of cardboard boxes for me. Then I covered the circles with tissue paper, tied the ends with ribbon, and glued the little sign on the front, and voila!
I contemplated ordering these cake pops as favors for the party b/c they matched the theme of the party so perfectly, but then I came back to reality and we did bubbles (they are the ice cream cones, so it still went with the "sweet shoppe" theme) and little bags that people could fill up with candy to take home.
I made two banners for the party following this tutorial and purchased one on clearance from Tar-Jay for $3.50 I think.
I put the Shutterfly book I made of Shelby's first year out on the table at the party for guests to sign and write a little message to Shelby. I thought it would make a nice keepsake.
And of course we had to hang up Shelby's monthly pictures..
And here's the food...
I made poor Derek carve another watermelon fruit basket for me...I'm sure you can tell he was real pleased with my idea ;)
I ordered the cupcake toppers from this shop on Etsy.
Okay, so I know this was probably not the most exciting post ever to read..but I want to have a record of all the little details from Miss Shelby's very first birthday party! Next up in the never-ending birthday posts is party/guest pictures! :)
