I had fully intended on filling y'all in on the big birthday bash by now, but the past 48 hours since we had our shots have just been rough. {Shelby is still sound asleep upstairs, and I'm holding out hope that she will be feeling as good as new when she wakes up this morning!} Hopefully I will have some time to share more details and pictures with you soon, but until then here is a picture of the birthday girl to hold you over...

Whew!
Whew..what a whirlwind the past couple of weeks have been! Let's recap, shall we? It all started when we took a spur of the moment trip home to go to the Georgia/South Carolina game. We headed to GA on Thursday and then got back to Biloxi late on Sunday night. I barely had time to unpack our bags & catch up on laundry before my family arrived on Wednesday to see the birthday girl. Then it was a mad dash to get all of the birthday decorations & food prepared (SO thankful I had my family in town to help with it all!), Derek's fam arrived on Friday, we partied on Saturday, and then said our goodbyes to everyone on Sunday. We were exhausted to say the least. Derek was fortunate enough to have Monday morning off, so what did I decide to have us do on the Monday morning after our whirlwind of events? Take a trip to the immunizations clinic at the hospital, of course. What was I thinking?!?! I know what I was thinking. I wanted to take advantage of Derek having the morning off to be able to accompany us for the shots. (Shelby was getting her 12 month shots, and all 3 of us were getting the flu shot.) But seriously, what was I thinking?! After a crazy couple of weeks, we needed a couple of low-key days to recuperate, but instead we have been dealing with a very fussy little girl. Poor baby was uncomfortable after the shots on Monday, but it was bearable with Tylenol. But then she woke up on Tuesday with congestion, a runny nose, and lots of sneezing on Tuesday (I think it's a result of the flu shot). Shelby is usually not the crying-type. Don't get me wrong, she can voice her displeasure..she just prefers to whine until she gets her way. Ha! So when she cries, I always know something is really wrong. Well, since her shots the tears have been free-flowing. It just breaks my heart.
