Due Date Day!

{taken today at 40 weeks, my due date!}
How far along: 40 weeks..today is my due date! And just like with Shelby, this day has turned out to be pretty anti-climatic. ;)

Weight Gain: As of my appt today, I have gained a total of 26 pounds.

Maternity clothes: It has been a bit chilly here lately! I'm still managing to get by somehow with my maternity jeans & yoga pants and living in my maternity shirts b/c that's all that will cover my huge 9 month pregnant belly. Thankfully we've got some warmer temps on tap for this week!

Sleep: Thankfully my cold or allergies or whatever it was is now gone, and I am sleeping great! Just getting up once in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.

Movement: Yes! :)

Food cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary :)

Symptoms: Feeling pretty good! I have some random ligament pain at times, but that's pretty much it. No contractions as of yet!

Gender: Another girl!

What I miss: Getting up and down off of the floor easily :)

Best moment this week: Getting our sweet girl's name put on a few things and getting a better idea of what our birth plan will look like at our appt today.

What I'm looking forward to: Enjoying our last few days as a family of 3! And some of our best friends are passing through Biloxi on Thursday, so we are VERY excited to get to see them!! :)

Update from 40wk appt: At my doctor's appointment this morning, we re-evaluated our birth plan. Our hope/goal all along for this pregnancy has been to attempt a VBAC, and as of now that is still a possibility. My doctor checked me today, and I still have not progressed at all..not even a little bit! We are going to give this baby another week to try to come on her own accord. But if nothing has happened by Monday the 18th {at which point I will be one day shy of 41wks}, we will head up to Labor & Delivery to get the ball rolling. When I go in, they will check me to see if I've made any progress yet. If not, they will attempt a "mechanical" induction {as opposed to an induction via drugs} with a foley balloon. They will insert the foley balloon on Monday afternoon to try to kick my body into gear, and then they will check me on Tuesday morning bright & early. If my body has responded to the foley, then they can give me Pitocin at that point. If my body still isn't responding, they will go ahead and administer a c-section at that point. So that's where we're at as of now...just hoping this baby will decide to come on her own sometime in the next week!

  1. I keep checking your blog daily to make sure there is no news! Best of luck in having her come on her own...either way, best wishes for a smooth delivery and wonderful welcome for your new sweet little girl! I can hardly wait to hear what Shelby thinks of her when she is "really" here!
