Home again, home again, jiggity-jog...my mom used to always say this as we pulled into the driveway when we were growing up. I can distinctly remember saying that for the first time in college to one of my friends and realizing that not everyone's moms said that. ;) After five years in Athens & earning two degrees, one of the biggest lessons I learned was that not every family did everything the same way. ;) One of my favorite stories illustrating this lesson is moving into my dorm room freshman year and watching my roommate unpack her clothes. She was a very neat & organized person, but I had to pick my jaw up off of the floor when I saw her just throw all of her underwear sloppily into the drawer. Up until that point in my life, I thought every single person folded each pair of their underwear and lined them in straight little rows in their drawers. It was seriously mind-boggling to me to discover after 18 years that was not reality!
Anyhow, home again home again jiggity jog...we're home from the happiest place on Earth! We had so much fun! I'm so thankful my parents were able to go with us and that my girls will have memories with their grandparents at Disney World. It will probably be a couple of days before I have the time or energy to go through all of our pictures, but for now here's two of my favorites:
 |
Grampy squishing Shelby on the bus...this was one of Shelby's favorite things about Disney World! Much of my childhood (and adulthood!) was spent being teased & pestered by my dad....I'm thankful that Shelby can take some of the brunt of it for me now. ;) It's fun to see their relationship grow as Shelby has gotten older and developed more of her own personality. She definitely loves her Grampy!

| All of us with Belle at the princess breakfast on our last day..can't believe we got everyone looking! |
We got home yesterday evening just in time to feed the girls a quick dinner, bathe them, and throw their exhausted little bodies in bed! I'm so thankful our first day at home was a weekend day to have Derek home with us. We got SO much accomplished! We got unpacked, suitcases put away, laundry all caught up, grass is cut, Derek's hair got cut, trip to the commissary, family run, playtime with the Goins family, entire house vacummed, finances caught up on, and watched the end of the Masters. Feels good to be caught up on life, and now we're gearing up for the chaos of the next couple of months...my sister's bridal shower, a family trip to Destin for a work conference for Derek, a trip to San Antonio for house-hunting, a move to San Antonio, pre-wedding events, & then Emily's wedding...all between now & July 3rd...whew!! Here we go!!!!!!!
