Disney World 2015, Part 2: Magic Kingdom + Festival of Fantasy Parade

We spent our first day at Disney World at our favorite place, Magic Kingdom! We knew we really wanted to forgo the girls' naps one afternoon in order to attend the 3:00 parade, so we decided this would be the day! We had a lot of fun riding rides in the morning, eating ice cream, & watching the parade! The afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom is always one of the highlights of our trip! They do such a fabulous job with it!

The very first thing we HAD to do at Disney World according to Miss Shelby was ride Space Mountain...check! We were a bit worried she would be scared & hate it, but she LOVED it! As soon as we got off, she told us: "That wasn't even scary at all!" ;)

Dumbo!

Snuggles for Grampy! Hadley was full of snuggles on this trip!

We accidentally stumbled upon this ride, and it ended up being one of the girls' favorites! I don't even remember what exactly it was called, but the girls referred to it as "The Ariel Ride." ;) We probably rode it at lesat ten times over the course of the week! Initially, we saw that the wait time to meet Ariel in her grotto was pretty short, so we told the girls we'd go see Ariel. Well, the entrance to the ride is right next to her grotto, and we just mistakenly went in the wrong entrance. I thought the girls were going to be so disappointed they weren't seeing the real Ariel, but this ride ended up being a million times better in their opinions! They LOVED it! What's funny is neither of the girls realy like The Little Mermaid movie b/c they claim it's too scary, but they were all about this ride!! :)

Enjoying Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream while we waited for the Festival of Fantasy Parade to begin!

Waving as the floats went by, both girls LOVED it!

More snuggles :)
More parade watching :)

Mad Tea Party!

We headed back to our hotel around 5 or so that evening to grab some dinner & let the girls play on the playground before early bedtimes. A long travel day with no naps followed by a full day at Magic Kingdom with no naps made for two very tired girls!

My parents & Lucas's parents graciously took over bedtime duty so that the four of us could enjoy a grownups night out at Downtown Disney! It was so nice to have some uninterrupted conversation! I think the last time just the 4 of us had gotten to hang out was when we were in Birmingham for Maleah's baby shower when she was pregnant with Elly and Derek's mom kept baby Shelby so we could go to dinner..it had been way too long! I wish we'd gotten a picture of the 4 of us at Downtown Disney, but this picture is pretty cute of the girls back at the hotel reading bedtime stories with Grampy! :)

Next up is Day #2 at Hollywood Studios & the Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom!
