Halloween: Then & Now

I love the idea of coordinated Halloween costumes for the girls. :)  Right now, they both adore being dressed alike & having coordinated costumes...so we're taking advantage of it as long as we can! I know these years are numbered! ;)

And apparently the apple didn't fall very far from tree b/c my mom was clearly also a fan of the mathcy-matchy costumes ;)

Shelby picked out both of the girls' costumes last year & this year, too. ;)  I warned Shelby this was probably the last year she'd be able to get away with planning her little sister's costume for her, ha!  Shelby decided to be Princess Jasmine this year, and Hadley will be Jasmine's tiger Rajah. Here's a sneak peek on them in their costumes for Halloween!

And here's the best part about their Halloween costumes this year....

Yep, that's Derek wearing the same exact costume when he was 2 years old in 1986!

How cool is it that Hadley gets to wear the same Halloween costume as her Daddy did when he was two?! Derek's mom hand-made the tiger costume for Derek all those years ago, and thankfully she has hung on to a lot of the costumes she made for Derek & Maleah when they were little. And I will go ahead and go on the record now that this tiger costume will more than likely be the one & only hand-made Halloween costume either of my children will ever wear--and it wasn't even made by me! ;)  Making costumes just isn't in my skill set, and I'm perfectly okay with that! :)

I think Hadley's "cheese" face looks a lot like Derek's did in the previous picture! :)
