So I didn't really do any New Year's Resolutions this year, although I usually don't...so the fact that I didn't this year isn't really that big of a deal. ;) But I did really enjoy reading Glennon's perspective on resolutions found {
HERE}.
Despite the fact that I'm not doing any resolutions per say, I do have a new goal for myself this year. We'll see how it goes! I ended up getting a new phone on New Year's Day, and I realized that I do a TERRIBLE job of moving photos off my phone and onto my laptop to be saved. I have a great app to make this process easier, but I typically only move photos over when I use them for the blog...but I don't do a good job of moving all the ones I want to save and deleting the ones I don't. I had over 2,000 pics on my old phone--ridiculous! So my goal for the new year with my new phone is to tackle my phone pictures once a week--save the ones I want and delete the ones I don't to empty out my camera roll each week, and use any good photos to publish a "Life Lately" blog post once per week. Here's my first attempt at that!! :)

| This was how we started off the first day back to school after Winter Break. Shelby was up at the crack of dawn every morning of the break, but of course I had to practically drag her out of bed on the first day back to school! ;) |
| We still went to the library semi-regularly over the break, but Tuesday was the return of the library's weekly storytime & the girls were thrilled about that! Shelby is reading a new Berenstain Bears book here. |
| After Hadley and I dropped Shelby off at school on Wednesday morning and distributed artwork to all of the kiddos' totes, we didn't have anywhere else to be...so we headed to Chick-fil-a for a breakfast date! It was such a delight, nothing makes this girl happier than "baby biscuits" {aka chicken minis}! It's always such a treat to get one-on-one time with this girl! |
And a little playtime in the CFA playplace...it's so fun/interesting to watch Hadley play & interact with other kiddos without her big sister at her side. |
Getting back into the swing of things is exhausting! I had to wake this sleepy girl up from her nap on Wednesday after school. :) |
| On Thursday, we met the Goins & Gallimores for a lunch/playground date. We got there about 20 minutes before everybody else, and since their playground is gated we just killed time in the car while we waited for our friends to arrive. The girls were playing a bit of musical carseats, which they found quite entertaining! Side note--this picture made us realize Hadley is probably ready for her own "big girl carseat." Where has the time gone?! |

Hair cut day! At this kids' salon, they have a little TV at each station for each kiddo to be able to choose what show/movie they'd like to watch during their hair cut. Shelby politely requested that her TV be left off, and the stylist was completely baffled! ;) Shelby had remembered at her last hair cut that she had a hard time following instructions on which way to turn/tilt/hold her head b/c she was "distracted" by the move. For anyone who hasn't seen Shelby watch TV, she has COMPLETE tunnel vision when a TV is on and literally cannot hear anything you're saying to her...hence why the TV can NEVER be on for background noise in our house. ;) I was pretty proud of Shelby for having the self-awareness to know that she would do better with the TV off, very mature of her! |
| Cool girls with their short hair, shades, and lollipops! |
We are currently enjoying what's left of a very low-key, relaxing weekend! Derek & both girls are napping, so I'm enjoying a quiet house while I blog! As soon as I hit "publish," I'm going to curl up on the couch with
The Good Girl--I'm really enjoying it so far!!
Happy Sunday, Everyone!!
