Grammy's Visit

My mom's mom passed away a couple weeks before I was born, and I really & truly do not know how my mom walked through the early years of mothering {or anything else in her life for that matter} without her mom by her side. Here we are on Baby #3, and I still need my mom just as much I did the first time around. I can't imagine doing life without my mom.

If I write too much, I will probably cry my eyes out--between post-partum hormones, getting adjusted to our new routine, sleep deprivation, and feeling homesick for San Antonio, I can be a little emotional from time to time. ;)  So I will keep this brief. :)  My parents are incredibly selfless. My dad gave up my mom for about a week and a half {despite the fact that she had been here for about 3 weeks earlier this summer & they already have another trip scheduled to see us in October} so she could fly across the country to be here in Las Vegas for her grandbabies' first days of school & to help me maintain my sanity. I cannot put into words how much this meant to us.

Only a Grammy would bring an extra suitcase on a cross-country trip filled with goodies for her grandbabies :)  Included in said suitcase were the Mickey/Minnie bride/groom ears that the girls are wearing. Derek & I got them at Disney World when we were engaged (picture below), and my thought the girls would enjoy playing dress-up with them..she was right!! :)

We love baking, but it's been nonexistent in our life since we moved to Las Vegas. Grammy got us our baking fix :)  Hadley is helping Grammy bake pumpkin bread in this pic :)

With Shelby starting Kindergarten during my mom's visit, Hadley got lots of extra Grammy time! These two logged a lot of time playing Barbies together :)

Derek has done all of our grocery shopping since Brady was born, but we just needed a couple things and since my mom was with us it was doable. We went to Albertsons so Hadley cold use the kid cart...she adores these!!

Hadley speaks her mama's love language...chocolate milkshakes :)

I love this picture :)

More baking fun!! We had to squeeze in as much as we could b/c I knew it wouldn't happen again once my mom left ;)

Shaving cream fun!

We had the best time with my mom & we're already counting down until my parents' visit in October!! Thank you for everything, Mama!!!!!!!
